Poetic Medicine for Women’s Multicultural Development Conference.

Poetry can facilitate transformation as it creates a language which can hold emotional weight and guide towards healing. Poetic medicine can help women recover creativity, assert their place in their own story and create permissions to be exactly who they are.

Mary Ellen Lough teaches poetry to veterans with trauma at the VA Hospital and has taught Poetic Medicine with women and mothers for over six years. She has a BA in Poetry and Community Healing and is pursuing certification in Poetic Medicine.
