Since April of 2020, a group of thoughtful and heart-centered creatives, dreamers, seekers, neurodivergents, social change activists, writers, mental health and wellness professionals from all walks of life have gathered for four to six weeks at a time to approach poetry as a means of inner work, visioning, healing, and community formation. An unlikely band of misfits began to form, and rely on each other for the kind of connection that is difficult to access in daily life.
In 2023, we began Poetry to the People, a 9-month apprenticeship program for those wishing deepen their practice. We met monthly as a group, and then in one-to-one sessions.
Revelationary Poetics is an ongoing monthly offering of poetic community centered in the heart, deep image, the imaginal, and inner work. Sessions are generally the second Tuesday evening of every month via Zoom, although as a crafter, mother, and homesteader, unexpected scheduling conflicts can arise and a reschedule will be made as soon as possible. Sessions will be made available via recording if you cannot make a session.
Each month, you will receive a PDF of poetry and contemplative readings around a theme, which we will read and respond to in the group. Additional resources and opportunities for virtual lunch cafes and group messaging are also available, as are one-to-one mentorship sessions with Mary Ellen for dreamwork, guidance, and poetry work.
